I've never written about this before, and at first it was difficult because it wasn't just a story, but a part of my life. I've changed some details around and, of course, the names so that it's a novel, but the events and the experiences are basically the ones I had. A friend encouraged me to write this for Brown Skin Books because she'd heard me tell the whole story and she said 'Well, you always say there's so much nonsense talked and written about mènages à trois, why don't you tell us what it was really like?'

But I still resisted writing it until she said something else that stuck with me: Just because a love affair ends doesn't mean you forget all the love... And that was my breakthrough.

So when I began to remember what happened and started writing it down, I felt myselt getting turned on all over again by the memory of one or the other touching me... or both. I do have happy memories of that time. 'Tim' and 'Sally' freed me in many ways and, for better or worse, I'm a different person because I knew them. Writing it turned out to be enjoyable in the end, and now it's sort of fun that my experience inspires so much curiosity!
